The Cleaning Process

Pre-Clean Inspection

The rug cleaning process begins with a thorough inspection of your rug(s). The purpose of this evaluation is to:

• Determine the types of fibers and dyes present
• Evaluate and identify spots, stains and odors to determine how successful the cleaning process will be at meeting your expectations
• Identify pre-existing damage, structural instability, or wear patterns

Dust & Dry Particle Removal

Removing the fine particulates and debris that can be embedded deep within the foundation of your rug is a critical (and often overlooked) step in preserving the structural integrity of your rug and reducing the allergens in your home. This process removes the sediment that vacuuming and in-home rug cleaning fail to extract. Over time, dry soils and debris will grind away at the rug, weakening the foundation and wearing down the pile. We “dust” each rug by hand to ensure that delicate rugs are not damaged and that each and every rug is thoroughly treated.

Rug Washing

We use a variety of tools and techniques to ensure each rug is cleaned safely and effectively. The customization of the washing process by our rug cleaners can include:

• Cleansing and rinse
• Spot & Stain treatment
  – Pet stain treatment & deodorization with bio-enzyme encapsulation treatment
• Fringe cleaning
• Pile correction
• Dry cleaning by hand for specialty textiles, delicate fibers, or loose dye sets

Controlled Drying

Rugs are dried at an ideal rate in a humidity and temperature-controlled room. Rugs are laid flat or hung to dry to maintain their shape and encourage even drying.

Post-Clean Inspection

We perform a post-clean inspection on all rugs before they leave our facility. At this time, we carefully review each rug, touch up any problem areas, ensure stains and odors have been treated as discussed, and prepare the rug to be returned to its place in your home.
